Collecting information for an IBM Debugger for AIX problem

I have a problem with IBM Debugger for AIX, what information can I collect to assist in its resolution?


The IBM Debugger for AIX is shipped on the XL C/C++ for AIX installation media, and can automatically collect information that will help the service team determine the problem you have encountered.

In the "Debug" panel, find the button with the tool-tip "Collect information for service request":

This will open a new window, which will look like this if tracing has not been enabled:

If you see this window, click the "Turn tracing on" button to enable tracing, return to your debugging session and re-do the problematic task.

Once you have encountered the problem, click on the "Collect information for service request" button again. You will see a window like the one below. Enter a description of what you were doing at the time of the error and click "OK":

When you click "OK", a file will be created that you can send to IBM in addition to a test case in a PMR.
