Question & Answer
Question
Can the Web crawler crawl Web sites that are set up to use self-signed certificates for secure sockets layer (SSL) communication?
Answer
To enable the Web crawler to crawl sites by using a self-signed certificate, add the following line to the ES_NODE_ROOT/master_config/collection_id.crawler_session_id/crawl.properties file:
all_certs_okay=true
You cannot make this change in the enterprise search administration console. You must edit the properties file to make this change and then restart the Web crawler.
