The LDAP directory server is unable to connect to the database.

Resolving The Problem

On ITDS v 6.x, if the server fails to start with Message "GLPRDB004E The LDAP directory server is unable to connect to the database" and the db2cli.log contains the following message:

"SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "1" ("PASSWORD EXPIRED"). SQLSTATE=08001" then your DB2 administrative user password has expired and it needs to be reset.

On ITDS v5.2 you will see the following message when attempting to start the server "Error code -1 from odbc string:" SQLConnect " ldapdb2b " and the db2cli.log contains the following message:

"SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "24" ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). SQLSTATE=08001" then your DB2 administrative user password has expired and it needs to be reset.

You can reset you DB2 Administrative User Password as follows:

For ITDS v6.x:

1) Verify that the Username and Password are updated and valid on the Operating System.

2) Issue "idscfgdb -I <instance name> -w <new DB2 Admin Password> -n"

Example:

# idscfgdb -I ldapdb2 -w newPassword -n

For ITDS v5.2:

1) Verify that the Username and Password are updated and valid on the Operating System.

2) Issue "ldapcfg -w <new DB2 Admin Password> -n"

==> ldapcfg -w db2ldap -n
