Error message when reloading a sales catalog in the Management Center

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

The following error message displays in the error console of the Management Center when a sales catalog object is reloaded: "An error has occurred while attempting to communicate with the server. Contact your system administrator if the problem persists."

Symptom

The message "An error has occurred while attempting to communicate with the server. Contact your system administrator if the problem persists." displays in the error console of the Management Center when a sales catalog object is reloaded. Sales catalog data seen in the properties page, such as name and short description, are not updated.

Cause

There is a problem with the JSP used to invoke the read service on a sales catalog object.

Resolving the problem

To make sure that the properties such as name and short description on the sales catalog object are properly reloaded, use the 'Reload all and close" option, instead of using a direct reload on the object itself. If the problem persists, contact IBM Support for help.
