Abstract

A new Linux for System z™ client is now available for WebSphere® Classic Federation Server for z/OS v9.1.

The Linux for System z client connects your applications and Information Server for System z components such as WebSphere DataStage for Linux® on System z, WebSphere Federation Server for Linux on System z, and WebSphere Information Analyzer for Linux on System z with the WebSphere Classic Federation Server for z/OS®. This provides real time read and write access to critical operational and business intelligence data residing in native z/OS IMS, CA-IDMS, CA-Datacom, and Software AG Adabas databases as well as to VSAM, IAM, and QSAM file system data. Together, these solutions empower robust System z-centric information on demand environments.

Installation and configuration for the Linux for System z client is the same as for the clients on other UNIX and Linux operation systems. Additional information is available in the WebSphere Classic information center:
