Information is provided about the hardware and software requirements for IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for System Backup and Recovery (SysBack®) Version 6.1.
Content
The hardware and software requirements for operating the SysBack V6.1 base product are described. The requirements apply to all levels of V6.1. For requirements for specific SysBack features, see the following technotes:
- Technote 1282833 (integration with Tivoli Storage Manager)
- Technote 1282831 (CD and DVD device support)
- Technote 1282832 (tape drive support)
- Technote 2001707 (support matrix for the Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client application programming interface)
System Hardware Requirements
SysBack supports the following hardware:
- IBM pSeries™ systems running on the IBM AIX® operating system
- IBM BladeCenter systems running on AIX
- IBM iSeries™ systems running on AIX
System Software Requirements
The following software is required to use SysBack:
- AIX V5.2 or V5.3.
- AIX V6.1 (for SysBack V6.1.2 or later).
- AIX V7.1 (for SysBack V6.1.3 or later).
- AIX V7.2 (for SysBack V6.1.3.9 or later).
- The bos.sysmgt.sysbr fileset.
- When AIX is installed, the following filesets are installed automatically with the system and must not be removed in order for SysBack to function properly:
- To use the Remote Services functions of SysBack, the following AIX filesets are required:
- To use the Classic Network Boot functions for the Network Installs, the AIX bos.net.nfs.client fileset is required.
- To use the NIM Resource Network Boot functions for Network Installs, the NIM environment and resources must be installed and configured.

– bos.rte.libnetsvc (when using Network Install functions).
