Troubleshooting
Problem
This technote explains how to resolve an SQL1092N error that might occur when creating a new database on IBM® DB2® with IBM Rational® ClearQuest®.
Symptom
This error occurs when trying to create a new ClearQuest schema repository or user database with DB2 as a backend:
<authorization-ID>" does not have the authority to perform the requested command.
Error SQ1092N "
Cause
This can occur if the the userid authorization-ID on the database server is attempting to use or modify a database resource, while not a member of the local DB2USERS or DB2ADMNS group. This is not allowed. The command cannot be processed.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve this issue, add the userid authorization-ID to the local windows security groups DB2USERS or DB2ADMNS using the Windows Computer Management tool.
- Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.
- In the Advanced tab, click the Advanced button.
- Expand the Groups folder.
- Edit DB2ADMNS or DB2USERS and add the authorization-ID as a member of the group.
- This should prompt to log off and log back in for changes to take effect.
Note: Make sure the DB2 instance is running as an domain account where the domain is a member of the local Administrators group.
