Physical node name in the message: "Server started on physical node <node name>"

Technote (FAQ)

Question

When you start a Lotus® Domino® server for i5/OS®, the following message displays on the console after all Domino tasks start loading:

"Server started on physical node <node name>"

What's the meaning of the physical node name in this message? From where is that value retrieved?

Answer

The physical node refers to the host on the local physical network, which is the Host Name of the local System i™ server on which the Domino server runs. This name is retrieved from the "Host Name" field in CFGTCP Option 12 (Change TCP/IP domain information).
