Can I send mail with a reply address from a mail-in database?

Answer

Below are steps for two solutions:

#1 - With a Person document that points to the mail-in database, create a shared ID file that will be used when sending mail from the mail-in database.

Note : This will require that users have a copy of the ID file and must switch ID's when sending mail from the mail-in database.

#2. Create a Person document in the Domino Directory with the following fields populated:
First Name, Last Name, User Name, Domain, Mail Server, Mail File, (which will point to the mail-in database).

In the mail-in database, click Tools > Preferences and change "This mail file belongs to" field to the person you just created.

Delegate the mail-in database to users that want to send mail. The mail will be sent on behalf of the shared ID. All replies will be addressed to the shared ID user and delivered to the mail-in database.
