Following type of event 4786 recorded in Windows event log on Windows 2003 based Content Engine:

Applying MS KB Hotfix 906092 ( may be helpful with this issue.

Also ensure that the CE has sufficient memory available. Increasing RAM, virtual memory or memory available to a virtual machine (e.g. with VMWare) may also help to alleviate this issue.
