Abstract

Domain authentication and authorization is not working in some domain environments.

This problem has been corrected. Follow these steps:

  1. Install patch TPC_3.3.0.158.
  2. Open the Windows Services panel and verify that the Windows service IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center - Data Server is configured to log on as a domain user in order to perform Network Management Functions.
  3. If the Data Server is not configured as indicated in step 2, perform the following steps:
    1. Highlight IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center - Data Server.
    2. Right-click to bring up the service menu.
    3. Select Properties.
    4. Select the Log on tab.
    5. Specify a domain account under This account using the <domain_name>\<domain_user> format.
    6. Enter and confirm the password for the domain account.
    7. Click Apply for the setting, and then click OK.
    8. Restart the Data server.
  4. Log onto the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center GUI as an IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center superuser.
  5. Navigate to Administrative Services > Configuration > Role-to-Group mappings.
  6. Delete any instances of previous domain group mappings.
  7. Save the changes.
  8. Create new Role-to-Group mappings by specifying only the domain group name.
  9. Save the changes.
  10. You can now log onto the IBM TotalStorage Productivity Center GUI with a domain account belonging to the domain group by using the <domain_name>\<domain_user> format.
