Symptom:
During the remote Data agent upgrade, the common agent is asked to restart. The common agent shuts down properly but does not restart. A Windows error is displayed showing that there is a memory access violation.
Work around:
While performing a remote agent upgrade of the agent, the common agent might not restart. To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Upgrade the Data agents.
- Restart the common agents on Windows machines where the agents did not come up.
If you have Fabric agents that need to be upgraded, you can upgrade the Fabric agents after restarting the common agent or before upgrading the Data agent.
This will ensure that the upgrade will be successful.
