Closed-loop Response

It is a Rational Software priority to ensure a closed-loop response to all client requests for enhancement (RFE). Under this process, Rational Software will strive to communicate both an initial assessment and a disposition for client RFEs within 90 days of submission.


Initial Assessment (30 days):

You will be updated with an initial assessment or a disposition within 30 days of the RFE submittal. The initial assessment may determine the RFE aligns with the product strategy and require additional review before a disposition is made. The initial assessment may also result in a communication that the request has already been delivered, needs more clarifying information, or is already planned for future release.


Disposition (90 days):

You will be updated with a disposition within 90 days of the RFE submittal. This disposition communicates a decision on the RFE. From a high level, there are three possible outcomes:

• Planned for Future Release: The request is approved and planned for delivery within the next year or next generally available (GA) release. IBM will confirm this request at GA and update status to Delivered.
  
  Note: Rational may indicate that a feature is "Planned for Future Release" but later reject that feature. This is an uncommon but potential outcome.
  
  
• Rejected: The request will not be delivered in the future. If the request receives continued interest, it may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months.
  
  
• Uncommitted Candidate: The request will not be delivered within the next year, but the theme is aligned with our two year strategy. Within one year of submission, status will be updated to either Rejected or Planned for Future Release.
