Is it possible to add a new ACL entry to multiple databases with roles already assigned?

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Is it possible to use the Manage ACL tool in Lotus Domino Administrator to add an entry to the access control list (ACL) of multiple databases and assign roles to it that already exist in those databases. Can this be done in one step?

Sample scenario:
The roles assigned to a new entry, such as for a new administration server, are essential for complete replication of the databases. Since the ACL of hundreds of databases must be changed, you want to save time by using the Manage ACL tool in Domino Administrator. Otherwise, you must add the administration server to each ACL individually and then assign the roles manually to this new entry.

Cause

You can only add, modify, and remove roles using the Manage ACL tool.

Answer

You cannot assign roles to users listed in the ACL using this tool so this is not possible at the present time. The issue was reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# GPKS6TNBN4 and an enhancement request was submitted for this additional functionality.
