'NotesException: Could not get IOR from Domino Server'
|
| | | Question | | While trying to configure a WebSphere® Portlet Factory Domino Builder to connect to a Lotus® Domino® server, the following error is returned:
class com.bowstreet.webapp.engine.WebAppRuntimeException:
lotus.domino.NotesException
Plug-in Provider: IBM
Plug-in Name: WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer UI
Plug-in ID: com.bowstreet.designer.ui
Version: 6.0.0
NotesException: Could not get IOR from Domino Server:
java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://hqlapps.scantron.com/diiop_ior.txt
at lotus.domino.NotesFactory.readIOR(Unknown Source)
at lotus.domino.NotesFactory.getIOR(Unknown Source)
at lotus.domino.NotesFactory.createSession(Unknown Source)
at lotus.domino.NotesFactory.createSession(Unknown Source) | | | | Cause | | The Domino server has not been configured to allow connections from Portlet Factory Domino Builders. | | | | Answer | | To resolve the issue, take the necessary actions to ensure the following settings are in place on Domino.
Open the Server document in the Domino Directory (names.nsf). On the Ports -> Internet Ports -> DIIOP tab, specify the "TCP/IP port number" for DIIOP (which typically is 63148). Also, set "TCP/IP port status" to Enabled.
The HTTP task also must be run in order to get the IOR. In the Server document, go to the Ports -> Internet Ports -> Web tab. Specify the TCP/IP port number for HTTP. By default, the HTTP task uses port 80.
To access a database without knowing its file name (as the Portlet Factory Domino Builders do), you must allow browsing over the network. In the Server document, go to the Internet Protocols -> HTTP -> R5 Basics tab. Set "Allow HTTP clients to browse databases" to Yes.
In the Server document, go to the Ports -> Internet Ports -> Web tab. Ensure that the authentication settings are set to allow Anonymous authentication.
