The problem occurs when mobile user support is re-enabled in IBM® DB2® CommonStore for Lotus® Domino (CSLD). You must re-enable mobile user support on your Lotus Notes desktop client for the following reasons: 1. To create a new local archive database. 2. To use the updated ncsldmob.dll file. However, after you have specified the path and the name of the local archive database and local mail database replica, and you click "install", the following message is displayed: "This database is already mobile enabled, would you like enable it again?". When you click "Yes" , the following error is displayed: "Notes error: File is in use by another program(C:\IBM\Lotus\notes\\ncsldmob.dll)"
Cause
The problem is a sharing violation. The ncsldmob.dll file is still in use.
When mobile user support is enabled the first time, the ncsldmob.dll file is installed in the Notes directory on the client machine. The notes.ini file is updated to use ncsldmob.dll when Notes Client is launched.
When you then try to re-enable mobile user support again, the ncsldmob.dll file must be updated. However the file is still in use by Notes Client, and the following error is displayed: "Notes error: File is in use by another program(C:\IBM\Lotus\notes\\ ncsldmob.dll).”
Answer
Verify the following:
- Check that the ncsldmob.dll file is in the Notes directory on the client machine.
- Check if the NSF_HOOKS environment variable has been defined in the notes.ini file, and its value contains "csldmob".
If these conditions are met, perform the following steps:
1. Close the Notes Client.
2. Edit the notes.ini file in the Notes directory on the client machine and remove "csldmob" from the NSF_HOOKS environment variable.
3. Restart the Notes Client and re-install the mobile user support using the CSNC_Install.nsf database.
