Restart WebSphere Application Server after reconfiguring the management console

The Tivoli Federated Identity Manager Business Gateway management console is a plug-in to the IBM Integrated Solutions Console (ISC). ISC operates as an application in a WebSphere Application Server environment. The WebSphere Application Server can optionally be configured to enable WebSphere Application Server security. When WebSphere Application Server security is enabled, both ISC and the Tivoli Federated Identity Manager Business Gateway management console must be configured to use the appropriate WebSphere Application Server security values. For example, the location of encryption files and the passwords needed to access the files.

In some deployments, WebSphere Application Server security might be enabled after the Tivoli Federated Identity Manager Business Gateway console and ISC have been deployed. In this case, the Tivoli Federated Identity Manager Business Gateway console must be reconfigured to add the required security values. When the administrator modifies the configuration to add the security values, and supplies an incorrect value for either the location of a JKS (encryption) file or for the value of a password needed to access the file, the administrator must restart the WebSphere Application Server in order to correct the mistake. The restart is required because WebSphere Application Server caches the security values

Restart WebSphere Application Server in order to clear the cache and load the new (correct) values.
