Announcement for CICS Batch Application Control for z/OS 1.1.1
CICS Batch Application Control for z/OS (CICS BAC) V1.1.1 became available 1 September 2006. CICS BAC V1.1.1 delivers support for Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) panels.
CICS Batch Application Control for z/OS (CICS BAC) now provides three ways to manage the batch processing administrative tasks to fit with your preferred administration method.
- ISPF administration interface (NEW!)
- The file-maintenance utility
- Microsoft Windows technology based administration client - As 12/01/2016 the workstation administration client is no longer supported.
ISPF administration interface
Create and maintain information about files, programs, transactions, and TD queues in a CICS region VSAM KSDS control file. The ISPF interface operates directly on the target CICS control file
An integrated on-line help facility provides information about using the ISPF administration interface and additional information can be found in the CICS BAC User's Guide.
File maintenance utility
The batch equivalent to the ISPF administration interface.
You can run the CICS BAC file maintenance utility as a batch job to create and maintain information in a CICS BAC VSAM KSDS control file. It allows you to issue add, update, list and delete commands that operate on the contents of the CICS BAC VSAM KSDS control file. Additional information about the options and how to use the file maintenance utility can be found in the CICS BAC User's Guide.
Workstation administration client
The workstation administration client is no longer supported. The ISPF administration interface and the file maintenance utility are the supported tools to use for administration.
Download the CICS Batch Application Control for z/OS User's Guide for z/OS V1.1.1 (SC34-6321-07) for additional information regarding the ISPF administration interface and file maintenance utility.
