0C4 in PLT programs and CICS fails to initialize when using Software AG product

Technote (troubleshooting)

You have recently added two programs to your startup program load table (PLT). Since this time intermittent S0C4 abends occur in other programs in the PLT and CICS fails to initialize. These programs were supplied by Software AG and are used as part of the database SAF interface.

Vendor programs from Software AG were inadvertently placed in the PLT.

Diagnosing the problem

The documentation shows that your ADABAS Task Related User Exit (TRUE) named ADATRUE overlaid the EIUS +48 with the literals *ADA. ADATRUE also overlaid offset +4C with the rest of the literal TIE* (*ADATIE* all together).

The overlay happens between the time the TRUE does the initial getmain for EISTG storage and is issuing an EXEC CICS ASSIGN command. The ASSIGN command is issued at offset x'94'. Load point of ADATRUE is 2568975C.

Resolving the problem

Remove programs supplied by vendor Software AG from the PLT. If you require additional assistance contact Software AG Support.
