Change ODMA integration using the Windows registry

Technote (FAQ)

Question

You want to install the Desktop Enabler for Lotus® Domino® Document Manager, but you do not want the Microsoft® Office integration turned on by default. The product is designed to install with all application integration fully functional, and each user can enable or disable integration using the Desktop Administrator tool.

Is there another way to affect what applications are integrated by default?

Answer

It is possible to change the Microsoft Windows® registry keys for the Desktop Enabler to indicate what applications are enabled by default. You can use normal Microsoft tools to then push these registry changes to individual workstations. The registry changes that are needed are described below.

NOTE: The information below is presented as a guideline for making relevant changes within the Microsoft Windows Registry. The Windows Registry is central to the operation of Windows, so any changes should be performed with great care. As with any major configuration change, it is highly recommended that customers have complete backups of their computer systems before attempting the following procedure, in order to allow recovery from system file corruption or other failures. If you require instruction about backing up and modifying the Windows Registry, first contact your system administrator or reference one of the third-party guides available for advanced Windows topics. Customers making changes to the Windows Registry do so at their own risk.
