Troubleshooting
Problem
This document covers the life cycle for IBM HTTP Server, a supporting program included with IBM products such as WebSphere Application Server.
Cause
The minimum IHS Release supported within an IBM product may change over time, especially for products that use a Continuous Delivery or "single release" service strategy. For details, refer to the license agreement for the IBM product that includes IHS.
Resolving The Problem
-
For users of IBM HTTP Server included with WebSphere Application Server:
See the WebSphere products' lifecycle dates for a complete listing of WebSphere Application Server product life cycle dates. Unless otherwise noted, the IBM HTTP Server version and release matches the version and release of the WebSphere Application Server that bundles it.

-
On Windows, early fix packs were available only in 32-bit form. A 32-bit instance of 9.0 on Windows can be upgraded to 64-bit with minimal effort: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/6572969
- Does not apply to 32-bit/31-bit IHS on z/OS.
- No other platforms are available as 32-bit on 9.0

-
IBM HTTP Server 8.5 in WAS 8.5
-
-
- On Linux and AIX, 32-bit is a non-default option. The architecture can be checked by running `apachectl -V | grep Architecture`
-
These instances should be replaced with IHS 9.0, or reinstalled using the 64-bit default.
-
On Windows, 32-bit is the only available architecture.
