Composer "add" fails for calendars, prompts, parms, or resources.

Resolving The Problem

Use the composer "replace" command for adding calendars, prompts, parms, or resources to the TWS databases.

NOTE: When using the composer "replace" command with calendars, prompts, parms, or resources databases, the contents of the entire database will be replaced by the contents of the flat file that is specified.

Example:

If there are forty resources in the current resources database and the composer "replace" command is used to read in a flat file that has two resource definitions, then the resource database will consist of only those two resource definitions.

To add additional entries to these databases, perform one of the following options:

Option 1:

1. Use the composer create command to dump the database entries to a file.

Example: create /tmp/parms.txt from=parms

2. Edit the parms.txt file and include the new/additional definitions and save the file.

3. Use the composer "relace" command to replace contents to the database with the modified file.

Option 2: (for UNIX)

1. Invoke composer.

2. Enter modify parms from the dash (-) prompt:

Example: -modify parms

3. When all entries have been displayed, go to the last line of the list and insert a new line.

4. Depress the <shift> and colon <:> keys.

5. From bottom of screen enter "r" "flat filename" to read in the specified flat filename:

Example: r /tmp/parms.txt

6. Save the file.
