Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Using a comma in place of a period to designate the decimal causes the report generator to display an error message.

Cause

A comma can not be used to represent a decimal

Resolving the problem

Use a period to designate a decimal in order to generate reports successfully. You can choose a period to designate a decimal by performing the following steps:

-Press Format>Preferences to open the Preferences dialog box

-Select the editing mode that you are working in from the Preferences list

-Scroll down the Preferences list to the 'Decimal Sign' entry in the 'Item' column.

-Double left-click the 'Value' cell to the right of the 'Decimal Sign' entry. A Decimal Sign dialog box appears.

-Type a period '.' in the Decimal Sign dialog box and press OK.

-Press Apply and then OK in the Preferences dialog box.
