Does Robot support C# or VB.NET ?

Problem

Does Robot support C# or VB.NET ?

Resolving The Problem

QUESTION:

Does Robot support testing of .Net applications built with either VB.Net or C#
?

ANSWER:

Yes. The Robot .NET Enabler is used for testing both WinForms applications and
WebForms.

WinForms applications can be developed in VB.NET or C#. They are applications
that reside locally on the PC. Whereas WebForms applciations are as the name
suggests web-based and deployed via the browser.

Thus, for WebForms testing, from Robot's perspective the underlying language
used (VB.NET, C#) makes no difference. This is because Robot specifically works
on WebForms since they are represented as HTML.

From the Rational Developer Network site ...

"... Robot can also be used to record test scripts from within supported Web
browser software for most Web applications. This includes enhanced recognition
at the object level of the HTML created by the WebForms components included
with Visual Studio .NET. ..."

The only requirement to enable a .NET application is to run the .NET enabler on
the machine with Rational Robot installed.

This enabler can be downloaded from:
