In the Profiling and Logging perspective and Class Statistics view, what does the column field 'Total Size' and 'Actual Size' mean?
Resolving the problem
The Java run-time system performs garbage collection automatically. It finds memory that a program is no longer using and frees it.
For a class, Total Size means the size ( in bytes ) of the class instances, including the ones which are already garbage collected. This is helpful to give you an idea of the heap size used by the instances of this class during the execution of the application.
Active Size means the size of the active class instance which means the size of the instances not garbage collected yet.
