Abstract

The xa_open string is a crucial parameter for obtaining connectivity to databases through TXSeries applications. The following are the minimum set of XA open string parameters necessary for TXSeries applications using DB2 UDB V8.1/V8.2.

Content

The following are the minimum set of XA open string parameters necessary for TXSeries applications using DB2 UDB V8.1/V8.2.

DB=<DBNAME>,uid=<db2_user_name>,pwd=<db2_user_pwd>,toc=<thread of control>, AXLIB=<Encina Server library> ,tpm=<TP Monitor>

Where toc=p(for single association) & toc=t(for multiple association)
Only "toc=p" is supported while using DB2 UDB V8.1/V8.2 with TXSeries CICS.

Use "tpm=encina" for TXSeries Encina applications and "tpm=cics" for TXSeries CICS applications.

The AXLIB parameter points DB2 to the Encina server library, for AIX/NT, AXLIB should be set to libEncServer
