Technote (troubleshooting)
Problem(Abstract)
Attempts to create a connection to an IBM DB2 7.2 database and import the schema in the DBExplorer tab of the Data perspective to a folder results in the foreign keys not appearing.
Symptom
This problem can also occur with stored procedures and user-defined functions (UDFs).
Cause
Insufficient heap size.
Resolving the problem
Increase the application heap size on the database by doing the following:
- Open the DB2 Control Center > right-click the database and select Configure.
- Click the Performance tab.
- Scroll down the Parameter list and find Application heap size field and change the value to a higher heap size in the Value field. For example, if the value is the default 128, try increasing it to 512.
- Click OK.
- In WebSphere Studio, import the schema again and the foreign keys should appear. See help contents topic: "Importing DB2 database definitions to your project"
If the data definitions do not appear, continue this process until you find the optimal application heap size.
