Configuring ipmap To Generate A Core Dump

Technote (FAQ)

Question

How to configure ipmap to generate a core dump when ipmap disconnects from ovw?

Answer

There are two ways to configure ipmap to generate a core dump when it encounters a problem:

1. Set the undocumented NetView environment variable IPMAP_CORE_ON_ERROR=1, ipmap will core when it encounters a problem.

OR:

2a. Set an undocumented ipmap flag, -c, to enable ipmap cores.
2b. Add the -c to the

/usr/OV/registration/C/ipmap file as followed:

Command -Shared -Initial -Restart '${IPMapDir:-/usr/OV/bin}/ipmap -c';

2c. Recycle the NetView daemons to pick up the change.
