CNAT is not translating payload data.

Technote (FAQ)

Question

CNAT is not translating addresses that appear in the SNMP or ICMP payload. CNAT is only translating IP header data.

Answer

Verify settings for passthru in the CNAT translation table. The passthru flag should be set according to the CNAT Guide and Reference:

Passthru allows a packet to pass without translating its payload (the IP header will still be translated). Use no to translate a payload and yes to pass through the payload untranslated.

The translation table can be viewed by performing the following steps:
1. Select Primary CNAT Configuration from the CNAT Configuration SMIT panel.
2. Select Show/Change Translation Table.

The output of this action will look similar to the following:

9.9.0.0 11.11.0.0 255.255.0.0 F F

The T or F in the fourth column corresponds to the passthru setting (F=no and T=yes).
If there is a T in the fourth column, the payload will not be inspected for translating.
