Question
What CICS Transaction Server for z/OS (CICS TS) manuals are available in hardcopy format and in PDF and HTML format in the CICS information centers?
Answer
Depending on the release of CICS, a small subset of CICS documentation is provided in hard copy format with the product including the Program Directory, What's new, and licensing information. The information center is also included with the product on CD.
Starting with CICS TS 4.2, the Program Directory and the Information Center are only available from the IBM Publications Center. The Information Center also includes the Program Directory.
All CICS Transaction Server manuals are available in HTML or PDF formats in the CICS information centers. Most manuals are available in both HTML and PDF formats. However, Javadoc is available in HTML format only and the Program Directory is available in PDF format only.
You can view, print, and download the books that are in PDF format. See Working with PDF files for instructions on how to do view, print, and download the PDF files.

Once in the information centers, you can use the CICS information center to search, browse, and bookmark CICS documentation and documentation for related tooling products.Search within the information center does not search the Program Directory since this manual is only available in PDF format. You will have to open the PDF file before you can do a search of the contents.
