Why can't my warehouse agent pull data from an Informix source?

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why can I connect to Informix sources using the ODBC Administrator, but I can't connect using the Warehouse Windows NT agent?

Answer

When you connect to Informix® sources using the ODBC Administrator, you have access to information stored in the registry for all users who are currently logged on. This information is found in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive. When Windows NT® services, such as the warehouse agent, search for configuration information in the Windows registry, they have access to the system process part of the registry only. This information is found in the HKEY_USERS registry hive.

Informix has a utility named regcopy, which can be used to move the needed information from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive to the HKEY_USERS registry hive in the registry. The regcopy utility is in the bin directory of Informix. See the Informix Client Products Installation Guide for additional information.
