Abstract
DISABLING WMQ EXPIRER TASK CAN CAUSE QUEUE MANAGER TO ABEND
SHORTLY AFTER STARTUP
Error Description
Queue Manager can abend shortly after start up if the Expirer
task has been disabled. AMQZXMA0 job will end because it is
looking for a child process that has ended. AMQZMUC0 is that
child process. It can end abnormally with an MCH3601 T/
LIBMQMCS_R F/ LIBMQMCS_R under certain circumstances of the job
startup.

Problem Summary

WMQ users looking to disable the Expirer task

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
WMQ code was not properly accounting for scenarios where the
Expirer task interval had been set to 0. This was resulting in
working with uninitialized storage.
Problem Conclusion
WMQ code will be modified to properly account for when the
Expiry Interval is disabled.
