APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In order to use custom compile commands in the RSE, and have
    the RSE automatically download the errors and display them in
    the Error List view, users need to ensure their compile
    commands include the strings: *EVENTF SRCMBR(&N). If the
    custom compile command does not include these then users
    should add them as a comment when defining the command: /*
    *EVENTF SRCMBR(&N) */. This works when directly running the
    compile command, however if the command is prompted first then
    the command prompter strips off the comment and the compiler
    messages are not downloaded to the Error List view.

Local fix

  • Update the custom compile command to accecpt these parameters
    and ignore them.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: Those who define custom compile commands *
    * with a CL comment to trigger Error List *
    *                 processing.                                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If a user prompts the compile command, *
    * the CL comment text is stripped *
    * out and the Error List is not updated. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If a user-defined compile command is run with prompting; the
    CL Prompter removes the comment value which is required to
    trigger the Error List update.

Problem conclusion

  • The comment will be preserved when the compile command is
    prompted.
