Error description
One loaded a dynamic domain in the BOM without any error/warning message. However when he wrote the rules using the domain items, there is an error message "Undefined identifier com" shown in the IRL view. Having inspected the domain items in the BOM entry. it is noted that the problem is due to the naming of the BOM member. The customer has used a '-' which is invalid. However there is no error/warning in RD about this. When one triggers a change in the BOM member name field, e.g. like enter an extra character in the name, then the error message (ab_cd-1111 is not a valid BOM identifier) appeared. RD does not detect/report the error immediately.
Local fix
Make sure the BOM Member name uses java compliant identifiers to avoid the "Undefined identifier" error
Problem summary
The BOM editor does not allow for incorrect names to be entered, so there is no check in the bom editor for incorrect values. The domain value provider documents that names must be legal java identifier but does not enforce it. The BOM editor is modified to check that bom domain value names are valid and will throw an error message if not.
Problem conclusion
Temporary fix
Implement in the BOM domain value provider a verification of the format of the names.
