RS01079: Inventory Analyst Tables fail to Import when using Non-Express Import or importing from .XML files

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Inventory Analyst tables will fail to import when using
  non-express import or importing from .XML files with error
  message "'name' argument cannot be null. Parameter name: name".
  
  The following tables are the only ones affected by this issue
  and will fail non-express import:
  1. Plant Inventory Policy
  2. Plant Stocking Details
  3. Warehouse Inventory Policy
  4. Intra Plant Service Times
  5. Historical Time Periods (if using non numerical user id's)
  
  There are three ways to reproduce:
  1. Import All Tables from an .XML file
    a. Open an Inventory Analyst Scenario
    b. Select DATA>EXPORT ALL from top dropdown menu
    c. Export All Input data to XML format using the Export All
  Wizard
    d. Select FILE>IMPORT SCENARIO from top dropdown menu
    e. Import the newly created .XML file using the Import All
  Wizard
    f. Import All fails with multiple error messages
  2. Use non-express import from the Import Table Wizard
    a. Open an Inventory Analyst Scenario
    b. Navigate to one of the tables listed above
    c. Click the import icon on the toolbar located to the left of
  the grid
    d. Using the Import Table Wizard, select an appropriate file
  and table to import.
    e. On the 'Select Fields' dialog, UNcheck the 'Express Import'
  checkbox and click 'Finish'. Note: if you selected an XML file
  to import, there will be no 'Express Import' checkbox since XML
  files are always imported using non-express.
    f. Import fails with above message
  3. Use non-express import from the Edit in Excel Wizard to
  update grid data
    a. Open an Inventory Analyst Scenario
    b. Navigate to one of the tables listed above
    c. Click the excel icon on the toolbar located to the left of
  the grid
    d. Close the Excel worksheet that is opened.
    e. Uncheck the 'Express Import' checkbox located on the Excel
  Import Page
    f. Click 'Import'
    g. Import fails with above message
  

Local fix

• There are two workarounds:
  1. Import using a different data format other than .XML (e.g.
  .xls,.mdb,.xlsx,.accdb,.csv)
  2. Use Express Import on these data tables
  

Problem summary

• This issue has been resolved and fix will be available in IBM
  ILOG Inventory and Product Flow Analyst 7.6.15.2
