    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DB2 for z/OS Value Unit Edition (VUE) *
    * does not identify itself as such to *
    * remote JCC driver environments. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a remote JCC driver based application is connected to a
    DB2 for z/OS VUE server system, a server class name
    (DB2_SERVER_CLASS_NAME) value is not returned that identifies
    the DB2 for z/OS VUE server environment.
     Note: This only applies to DB2 for z/OS VUE systems that have
      accepted the one-time charge (OTC) license during DB2
      installation by specifying YES to the DB2 DSN6SYSP
      OTC_LICENSE subsystem parameter.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 has been changed to return the server class name value,
    'QDB2 for DB2 for z/OS VUE', to remote JCC application
    environments that connect to a DB2 for z/OS VUE system.
