    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:    You execute program EYU9XZUT (XZUT - *
    *                      CPSM Trace Utility) to format AUXTRACE  *
    *                      from a CMAS which connects to CMASes    *
    *                      running Version 5 Release 2 of CPSM.    *
    *                      Trace records generated for exception   *
    *                      responses in regions running V5.2 of    *
    *                      CPSM might be formatted incorrectly or  *
    *                      display corrupted data.                 *
    *                         The same problem may be observed     *
    *                      executing program EYU9D510 (CPSM's IPCS *
    *                      VERBEXIT) to format internal trace buf- *
    *                      fers in a dump of a CMAS which connects *
    *                      to CMASes executing V5.2 of CPSM.       *

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
    *                 APAR, failing functions must be repeated     *
    *                 executing programs EYU9XZUT and EYU9D510     *
    *                 from libraries containing the updated code.  *
    ****************************************************************
       When a request shipped through CPSM's Single System Image
    component (for example, an action initiated by an API program)
    receives an exception in one or more target regions, the trace
    records generated to log the exceptions are sent to the CMAS
    in which the request originated to insure that point-of-failure
    information is available in a common location.
       Trace records generated by CPSM contain metadata which is
    interpreted by the trace utility EYU9XZUT and by module EYU0DVAF
    (DVAF - IPCS VERBEXIT Trace Formatter), to increase readability
    of the formatted trace records.  For Version 5 Release 2 of CPSM
    the format of the metadata changed to support new function in
    that release.  If a CMAS running V5.1 of CPSM connects to a CMAS
    running V5.2, the AUXTRACE datasets and internal trace buffers
    might contain trace records generated by CPSM V5.2 which cannot
    be formatted correctly by the V5.1 version of EYU9XZUT and by
    EYU9D510.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Modules EYU9XZUT and EYU0DVAF were modified to process trace
    records containing metadata generated by V5.2 of CPSM.
