    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    ConnectJDBCDataStoreHelper is intended for DataDirect's
    Connect for JDBC driver for SQL Server, where get or
    setNetworkTimeout work fine. However when the
    ConnectJDBCDataStoreHelper is used with DataDirect's
    Connect JDBC driver for Oracle, the connection cleanup
    operation fails because the JDBC Driver does not support the
    'getNetworkTimeout' and 'setNetworkTimeout' methods which are
    invoked during the cleanup. This APAR will trap the generic
    exception thrown by the JDBC Driver and stop trying to reset
    the network timeout during the cleanup.

Problem conclusion

  • The WebSphere adapter (RRA) code has been updated to avoid
    using the 'getNetworkTimeout' and 'setNetworkTimeout' methods
    when the JDBC Driver does not support them.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix pack 8.5.5.3 Please refer to the Recommended Updates
