Error description

• When editing a VARCHAR field in FM/DB2, and changing a value in
  the middle of the field, trailing spaces at the end of
  the field are truncated even though 'Remove Trailing spaces' is
  not selected on Editor Options (5 of 7) panel.

  1. Internal processing resets the length of the VARCHAR field
  regardless of the editor option setting.
  2. Under some circumstances (for example varying fields where
  scrolling is required to see all of the data and varying fields
  that contain other than readable text) the current behavior can
  result in unexpected data truncation.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager DB2 component has been changed to correct the
  problem.
  This APAR provides a small enhancement to the FM/DB2
  editor.  The enhancement adds a new editor option that disables
  the processing associated with the "input string delimiter" for
  VARCHAR fields.
  This APAR also includes the fix for internally
  reported problem PFM05783.
