Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All DB2 10 for z/OS users of the DSNTIJEN *
    *                 job.                                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Broken directory databases found during *
    *                      DB2 10 for z/OS ENFM processing will    *
    * terminate the ENFM process. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available *
    ****************************************************************
    If a broken database is detected while ENFM processing the
    DSNDB01.DBD01 directory table space (DSNTIJEN step ENFM0037)
    in DB2 10 for z/OS the ENFM process will halt. The ENFM process
    cannot be continued until the problem database(s) are
    eliminated.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 ENFM processing code has been changed so that it will
    eliminate/discard these broken databases when detected. When
    this happens message MSGDSNU777I ("BROKEN DATABASE DISCARDED
    DURING ENFM - <database-name>") will be issued and the ENFM
    process will continue.
