Error description

  • In IBM SPSS Statistics 21 FP1, a specific Excel workbook
contains cells where the values are kept in a different
    worksheet.

For example, Sheet2 A1 contains a formula to retrieve
information from a separate worksheet (='Sheet1'!A1).

When importing this worksheet into Statistics 21 FP1 (and 22 GA
and 20 FP2), most of the data is imported correctly. However,
there are some instances where data is lost and an empty cell is
    returned.

All data should be returned without any issues.

Local fix

  • This issue has been reported to the IBM SPSS Statistics
development team and will be addressed in the next Fix Pack.
Please refer to the Fix Pack schedule at
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21599157 for
    information on upcoming Fix Packs.

Workaround is to copy the contents of the troublesome worksheet
into a new worksheet. When pasting, use the Paste Values option
within Excel to remove the formulas referencing the other
    worksheets.
Save your changes and use this new worksheet when importing your
    data into IBM SPSS Statistics.
