APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The server.xml file had been updated in Version 8.5.5.0 to add a
    JNDI property for following LDAP referrals. However, this is
    not being applied to the Liberty server or to the JNDI calls in
    the LDAP implementation for prior versions.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The chase referral option is not honored by LDAP user registry
    for WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile prior
    to version 8.5.5.0.

Problem conclusion

  • With this fix, chase referral option is honored by adding an
    attribute "referal" of which acceptable value is "follow" or
    "ignore". The default value is "ignore". Note that spelling of
    "referal" is intentionally made in order to maintain
    compatablity with version 8.5.5.x.

    The fix for this APAR is already available in fix pack 8.5.5.0.
