Error description

  • Using the Win32DisableAcceptEx directive to configure for
    AcceptEx disablement caused an entry like the following to
    appear in the Windows Event Viewer as an Error level:
    "[notice] Disabled use of AcceptEx() WinSock2 API"

    *                  Win32DisableAcceptEx directive in the       *
    *                  configuration.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The Windows Event Viewer contained an   *
    *                      error entry for configuration of        *
    *                      AcceptEx disablement.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:  Apply this fix to avoid the entry in the    *
    *                  Windows Event Viewer if using the           *
    *                  Win32DisableAcceptEx directive.             *
    ****************************************************************
    An error entry was occurring in the Windows Event Viewer with
    use of the Win32DisableAcceptEx directive.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The notice about AcceptEx disablement configuration will no
    longer appear in the Windows Event Viewer.
    
    This fix is targeted for IBM HTTP Server fix packs/releases:
     - 7.0.0.31
     - 8.0.0.8
     - 8.5.5.2
