Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1 - RSED started task
    consuming high amounts of CPU
    
    When analyzing the system dump for the RSED high CPU issue, the
    the formatted javastack
    revealed the RSED logger thread was consuming the CPU. The
    method calling the RandomAccessfile
    class is
    com/ibm/etools/zos/server/LogHandler.writeServerStandardLog

    *                         specified in rsed.envvars, RSE       *
    *                         Daemon logger thread consumed the    *
    *                         CPU much.                            *

    ****************************************************************
    01.When an error occurred in C select API, the logger thread
       did not process it correctly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • 01.Now, the Daemon logger thread (writeServerStandardLog) will
       process an error in select API correctly.
