    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The IHS Server fails to Proxy SSL *
    * requests with the ProxyRequests *
    * function if the local server can not *
    * resolve the destination address, or *
    * if running on an EBCDIC platform. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A DNS lookup was being performed against the destination server
    when the request was being forwarded to a known proxy server.
    On EBCDIC platforms the CONNECT request was not being
    translated to ASCII.

Problem conclusion

  • The DNS lookup will not be done against the destination server
    when the request is being proxied and the ProxyBlock function
    is not being used. The CONNECT will be translated to ASCII
    correctly if running on an EBCDIC platform.

    This fix is targeted for IBM HTTP Server fix packs:

     - 8.0.0.8
