PM94577: GROUP SELECTION WITH PEOPLEPICKER/DIRECTORYSEARCH PORTLET ISSUE WITH MANY GROUPS WHEN COMMON PART WITHIN CN EXIST

Error description

• Group selection with PeoplePicker/DirectorySearch portlet is
  not possible if many groups with a common part within cn
  exist.
  
  Due to the functionality of the implemented ldap search adapter
  (a * is  always
  appended to the search string) in the portlet, always all
  groups with  the
  common part in the cn attribute will be found, which might
  exceeds the   result limit.
  
  If you have  several groups starting with a common part in the
  cn.
  
  In consequence, the group  can never be found and  chosen,
  because always all the others are found in addition.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• A code fix for this issue is integrated into the WebSphere
  Portal & WCM Combined Cumulative Fix 08 (PM94847) for Portal
  8.0.0.1 available from Fix Central:
