  • Headline:
    Adding an object model diagram in Rational Rhapsody 8.0.2
    resulted in crash.
    
    abstract:
    Attempts to add object model diagram in a class in Rational
    Rhapsody 8.0.2 in Java leads to crash.
    
    error_description:
    1. Open the attached model in Rational Rhapsody 8.0.2 Developer
    edition for Java.
    2. Add new object model diagram in v1connectiontoolbox package
    with populate diagram as option.
    3. Select Relations From/To selected as contents of diagram.
    Select v1connectiontoolbox as package and layout style as
    Orthogonal. Click ok.
    4. Rational Rhapsody will get an error from C++ Runtime Librry.
    Choose for Abort and verify Rational Rhapsody crashes.
    
    workaround:
     There is no known workaround at this time.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  •  The problem is in external library.
    There is assersion failure that doesn't crash Rhapsody.
    The user can do the one of the following workarounds:
    1. Click "Ignore".
    2. Not to use "Orthogonal" in this case.
    

Problem conclusion

  •  There are no plans to fix this defect.
