APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Attempts to import large Word documents results in the following
  error message:
  
  'Unexpected exception while executing task'
  
  The only current workaround is to split the document in to
  smaller documents.

Local fix

Problem summary

• Each image within the document needs to be extracted and
  uploaded as a unique resource on the server. In the case of
  this particular large document, it contained over 500 images
  (596 to be exact) and exceeded a hard-coded limit of being able
  to only allocate up to 500 URLs.
  It is not the size of the document per se that causes the
  failure but rather the number of secondary resources (ie,
  images) that need to be extracted and created that caused the
  failure.
  

Problem conclusion

• This issue will be fixed in the Rational Requirements Composer
  4.0.4 release.
