Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of File Manager DB2 component. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In the File Manager DB2 editor, the * * display of GRAPHIC and VARGRAPHIC * * columns is corrupted when the encoding * * scheme is 1200, and the DB2 system is * * not set-up for mbcs data. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF. * **************************************************************** The current behviour of the DB2 editor when processing UTF-8 data (CCSID 1208) should also apply when processing UTF-16 data (CCSID 1200), even when the target DB2 system is not set-up for mbcs data. This is to retrieve the data in native unicode format, and manually convert the data when it is displayed in the editor.
Problem conclusion
File Manager DB2 component has been updated to correct the problem. This APAR changes the behavior when the File Manager DB2 component export function is used to process data in a DB2 object containing GRAPHIC or VARGRAPHIC columns in FM/DB2 internal (SQLDA) format. The logical record length for the output data set is now the same, regardless of whether the "native unicode processing" option is selected. Please Note: Users with previously generated batch jobs that process DB2 objects with GRAPHIC or VARGRAPHIC columns should re-generate the JCL and re-save any associated templates after the application of this PTF.
