Error description

• In IBM Rational ClearCase 8.0.1, a user that does not have read
  access to the VOB root directory element will not have access to
  metadata about checkouts in that VOB. Setting to a view and
  running 'cleartool lsco -cview -avobs' will result in the
  following error for any VOBs where the user does not have
  access:
  
  lsco: cleartool: Error: Unable to determine view for '?vob
  tag?': Permission denied
  
  The 'unable to determine view' error message here is unclear; it
  should simply inform the user that permission to access to a
  given VOB is denied.
  
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Create a VOB and view owned by user A in group A
  2. Set to that view as user B who is not in group A
  3. Run 'cleartool lsco -cview -avobs'
  
  Workarounds: Run lsco as a user with read access to the VOB root
  directory, or use the CLEARCASE_AVOBS variable to restrict the
  lsco command to access only VOBs to which you have the
  appropriate permissions.
